GERSON LAW FIRM APC received recognition in the 2011 – 2012 U.S.News – Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” rankings. These rankings are defined by practice area, both nationally and by metropolitan areas.
This is the second year of national rankings of law firms. Rankings previously included only individual attorneys. Gordon L. Gerson individually has been ranked since 2008 in editions of The Best Lawyers in America.
GERSON LAW FIRM was founded in 1992, with the intent to be a small firm serving the needs of institutional and non-institutional lenders as well as other clients primarily in the area of commercial real estate finance and other business transactions.
Most noteworthy is that recognition has come to a law firm with only 6 full time lawyers. The firm has never previously been profiled by national media among large national law firms, despite having a national lending and distressed real estate practice that exceeds some of the major law firms in the country. “For more than a decade we have been honored by the respect and confidence of the nation’s largest banks and Wall Street players, and now we are particularly pleased to be honored by one of America’s premier newsstand publications,” said Gordon L. What has been the underpinnings of GERSON LAW FIRM’s relationships with large financial institutions and other lenders? “Our law firm’s message to the national lending community has always been simple: The largest law firms in the US were once our size. We do not want to be the largest. Only the best,” said Gerson.
GERSON LAW FIRM will likely have acted as lender’s counsel on close to 200 commercial or multifamily loans in 2011, and handled over 100 loans secured by distressed real estate. The firm both closes loans and represents its lender clients in loan workout, receivership and foreclosure matters on a nationwide basis. Its ability to handle volume of this nature is attributable to a highly talented and dedicated team of lawyers, legal assistants and support staff.
“We have a presence on the national lending stage. From the largest banks, to the smallest credit unions, they know that representing lenders is our business,” said Gerson.
