MARK M. CLAIRMONT

Mark M. Clairmont is accomplished in aggressive representation of commercial real estate owners, developers and lenders in litigation, business and transactional matters. He has extensive experience representing owners and landlords of commercial property in both federal and state court. He also has practiced extensively in the areas of real estate finance, transactions and related areas.

Mr. Clairmont's experience also includes foreclosure and receivership matters, lender liability matters, mechanic's lien law, title insurance matters, landlord-tenant law, bankruptcy law, collections, asset protection, self-storage facility law and entity formation.

Prior to joining GERSON LAW FIRM APC, Mr. Clairmont exclusively litigated complex legal matters involving commercial real estate and property management while representing major San Diego commercial real estate development and property management companies. Additionally, Mr. Clairmont developed an expertise in real estate issues as they relate to railroads in his representation of Union Pacific Railroad Company throughout California. In 2002, Mr. Clairmont successfully litigated a quiet title action on behalf of Union Pacific Railroad Company, which resulted in the Second Appellate District upholding the constitutionality of California's Marketable Record Title Act for the first time in California's history. 101 Cal.App.4th 1209. Mr. Clairmont has also served as a volunteer mediator for the San Diego Superior Court, a volunteer for The United States Navy JAG Corps and a volunteer for the San Diego City Attorney's Office-Code Enforcement Division.

Mr. Clairmont received his Juris Doctor degree in May, 2000 from the University of San Diego, School of Law, after having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine in 1997. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2000 and is also admitted to practice in the Southern and Central District of California Federal Courts. Among his professional affiliations include: Association of Business Trial Lawyers, San Diego Asian Business Association, National Asian Pacific American Bar Association and Pan Asian Lawyers of San Diego.
