Mayor Appoints Gerson to Public Facilities Financing Authority

San Diego - Mayor Dick Murphy today announced the appointment of Gordon Gerson to the Public Facilities Financing Authority. The board is a joint powers authority whose members are the city of San Diego and the Redevelopment Agency. The Authority was created as a separate agency to finance public improvements of the city and the agency, which may include issuance of bonds for capital projects.
Gordon Gerson, a Carmel Valley resident, is an attorney in private practice. He has extensive experience in all types of real estate and real estate financing transactions, including industrial, office, commercial and retail, hotel/motel, and land. Gerson also has experience in state court receivership actions, unlawful detainer proceedings, and other collection proceedings. He is a frequent writer and speaker on both trends in the mortgage banking industry. He received his bachelor's degree in communications and public policy from the University of California, Berkeley and his law degree from the University of San Diego.
